Asus ZenBook 2020 Repair and Data Recovery
Asus released seven ZenBook models in 2020: UX325, UM425, UX425, UX435 and three more. We repair them at component level and recover data from them, in London or by insured courier from anywhere in the UK.
ZenBook models released in 2020
The model number is on the label underneath the laptop, after the word MODEL. The letters that follow it, such as UX3405MA, identify the exact version.

What is inside a 2020 ZenBook
- CPU platforms: Intel 10th gen Ice Lake in the first UX325/UX425 (June 2020), Intel 11th gen Tiger Lake from September 2020 (UX435, UX393, UX371), AMD Ryzen 4000U in UM425, and 10th gen Comet Lake H-series in the ZenBook Pro 15 UX535.
- Most models use Full HD IPS panels; OLED appears on the Flip S UX371 (4K OLED option), Flip 13 UX363 and Pro 15 UX535. The ZenBook S UX393 uses a 13.9-inch 3:2 3300x2200 IPS touchscreen.
- RAM is soldered LPDDR4X on UX325, UX425, UM425, UX393 and UX371; storage is a single M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD slot.
- The 13 and 14-inch models charge over USB-C Power Delivery (65W); the ZenBook Pro 15 UX535 uses a barrel-plug charger. ErgoLift hinge is standard, and UX435 has a ScreenPad display in place of the touchpad.

Data recovery from a 2020 ZenBook
When one of these laptops will not start, the files are usually still there. ZenBooks from these years store everything on an M.2 NVMe SSD. The memory is usually soldered to the board, but the SSD is not, so when the laptop itself has failed we can take the SSD out and read it directly.
These laptops were sold with Windows 10, and many have since been upgraded to Windows 11, which can switch on device encryption by itself. If the drive is encrypted we need the BitLocker recovery key, which is normally saved in your Microsoft account.

In most cases, yes. The SSD in a ZenBook can be removed and read directly, even when the motherboard has failed. The first look is free.
