Asus ZenBook 2024 Repair and Data Recovery
Asus released five ZenBook models in 2024: UM3406, UX3405, UX8406, UX5406 and one more. We repair them at component level and recover data from them, in London or by insured courier from anywhere in the UK.
ZenBook models released in 2024
The model number is on the label underneath the laptop, after the word MODEL. The letters that follow it, such as UX3405MA, identify the exact version.

What is inside a 2024 ZenBook
- CPU platforms: Intel Core Ultra Meteor Lake H-series (UX3405, UX8406), Intel Core Ultra 200V Lunar Lake (S 14 UX5406, September 2024), AMD Ryzen 8040 series (UM3406) and AMD Ryzen AI 300 (S 16 UM5606).
- All models are OLED. ZenBook Duo UX8406 has two 14-inch OLED touchscreens with a detachable keyboard instead of a fixed keyboard deck.
- RAM is soldered LPDDR5X; storage is a single M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD on UX3405 and UX8406. Charging is 65W USB-C.
- ZenBook S 16 UM5606 (Computex, June 2024) introduced the Ceraluminum (ceramic-coated aluminium) lid; it has a 78Wh battery and soldered LPDDR5X.

Data recovery from a 2024 ZenBook
When one of these laptops will not start, the files are usually still there. ZenBooks from these years store everything on an M.2 NVMe SSD. The memory is usually soldered to the board, but the SSD is not, so when the laptop itself has failed we can take the SSD out and read it directly.
Windows 11 switches on device encryption on many of these laptops without asking. If the drive is encrypted we need the BitLocker recovery key, which is normally saved in your Microsoft account.
